Arrival

This trip to Hawaii was my first vacation in a very long time that was just a vacation. I guess I got started a little early because I managed to forget all the important paperwork at home. We knew which airline to check in with, but were missing our hotel details... Imagine my surprise when Travelocity sent someone to pick us up at the airport!! Katya was surprised, too... :-) Travelocity shuttled us to our hotel for free, which was awfully nice because we had no idea where we were staying!! Our hotel, the ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel. Katya chose this hotel because of their attention to Hawaiian decor. Very nice, and highly recommended!! Gotta love the tiki torches that were everywhere!! Waikiki, all lit up at night... We had flown out on Sunday early afternoon, and arrived in Hawaii after dark. :-( We got settled in our room, and then had dinner at "Cheeseburger's in Paradise". Despite the name, the place was totally decked out in Hawaiian trinkets... After dinner, we took a walk out to a mini-pier, and snapped the picture above. Katya found a friend! We went wandering around Waikiki the first night, and we managed to get good and lost, so we finally had to call a cab to take us back home. :-)
