Bill and Katya go to Hawaii

Thursday morning, we went downstairs to the "Tiki Grill", the in-house restaurant...

Katya's Taco Platter

Bill's Fish Steak

After lunch, we hopped onto the free Hilo Hattie's trolley, and headed out to their main store.

So, there really are interstate highways in Hawaii...

Apparently, Hilo Hattie's has the biggest Aloha shirt in the world!!

We wandered around the store a little, and found some neat stuff. :-)

Next, we wandered nearby where we found a K-Mart, and a Salvation Army thrift store.

I know it's weird, but my first job was at the local (Huntington Beach) K-Mart...

Oh, and on the way back I also found an IBM building... :-)

FileNet / IBM is my current employer

Folks (at work) wanted to know if I was still going to be wearing black on the beach.

Luckily, FileNet provided me with some proper attire...

Here's a picture of the sunset off our balcony...

The sun sets FAST in Hawaii.

From the time it touches the water, to the time it disappears is less than 2 minutes.

Best to have your camera handy!!

The hotel sent us a note that there'd be a free hula show, down by the pool.

We grabbed some food-to-go, and enjoyed the show.

Afterward, we spent a little time shopping and wandering the town...

I didn't buy this, but it would certainly have been an interesting item to try and take on the plane!!

"Don Ho" street...

We ended up at "The Yard House" with some people we met on the tour bus.

We hung out to do the "Eat, Drink and Be Merry" thing,
and then walked back to our hotel along the beach.

Another night-time city shot ... off a balcony towards the back of our hotel.
